On June 1, the Beijing qualification trials of Asian Championships of the “Robotex” World Robot Contest were held in Daxing New Town Sports Center in Beijing. The event was co-sponsored by Beijing Exchange Center of Science and Technology, Daxing District’s E-commerce Office, Robotex China Organizing Committee and Robotex Beijing Organizing Committee. Besides, it received strong support from Beijing Acadmemy of Science and Technology and Daxing District People's Government of Beijing. On the day of the opening ceremony, Yang Beibei, Deputy District Chief of Daxing District People's Government, Liu Qingjun, Vice President of BJAST, MerikeGrunthal, counsellor of Estonia in China and other guests attended and delivered opening statement.

Liu Qingjun pointed out in his speech that the competition will create a more solid talent base for the development of China's robot industry and bring more opportunities for the further improvement of Daxing District's industrial development level and international influence. He said that the BJAST is willing to carry out more international scientific and technological cooperation with Daxing District around this development opportunity.

There were 8 events in the North China trials of the competition, attracting more than 1,000 competitors from 10 provincial regions, and the competition was intense. After two days of intense competition, a total of 40 contestants from the Beijing qualification trials of Asian Championships of the “Robotex” World Robot Contest stood out from the crows and obtained qualification for the Asian Championship, fully demonstrating the strength and elegant demeanour of the North China division.
