On August 11, sponsored by the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality and the BJAST, a large-scale public welfare popular science activity “Night at the Museum--Green Earth Night” hosted by the Beijing Museum of Natural History began. During the five-day event, centering on the concept of “Beautifying the Homeland and Leading a Green Life” of the International Horticultural Exhibition, natural resources, folk customs, traditions and arts and culture were displayed to the public through various forms such as program performances and “Green Earth” cultural and creative bazaar.

Fang Li, secretary of the Party Committee of the BJAST, pointed out in his opening speech that the 2019 “Night at the Museum--Green Earth Night” activity not only better integrates science popularization cultural resources and promotes the development of science popularization in the capital, but also serves as an important measure to provide science popularization services for the public at night, which promotes the opening of Beijing’s important communication channels for science, technology and culture exchange and effectively improves the level of science dissemination and services. Later, Fang Li, a member of the Party Group of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality and others jointly launched the “Night at the Museum--Green Earth Night”. Duan Yulong, the science program’s host of Beijing People's Broadcasting Station, and Huang Shan, the host of China Radio International, presided over the event.

During the event, Gao Yuan, a personnel from the Beijing Museum of Natural History who won the top 10 commentator in China, broadcast live to friends who failed to show up, attracting 41,000 fans to watch his video. In addition, many news media such as China Education Network Television and Beijing Television also carried out publicity reports respectively.
