On 16^th of December, the third "Belt and Road" International Science Communication Seminar was held in the form of online and offline integration. The seminar was hosted by the China Science and Technology Exchange Center, co-organized by the BJAST, organized by the Science Communication Center of BJAST and Beijing International Science and Technology Service Center Co., Ltd., and supported by the Beijing Planetarium. The organizer invited 21 experts from science and technology management departments, science and technology communication institutions and university scientific research institutions from 18 countries on 4 continents, including Costa Rica, to work with more than 20 domestic experts to focus on the theme of "Science Communication Mission of Scientific Research and Education Institutions" Research.

Li Yong, the deputy director of the Science and Technology Talents and Science Popularization Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, Ruan Xiangping, a first-level inspector of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, Gao Xiang, the director of the China Science and Technology Exchange Center, and Fang Li, the secretary of the leading party members’ group of the BJAST, delivered speeches at the opening ceremony. The conference invited Shahid Mahmood Baig, the chairman of the Pakistan Science Foundation, to give a keynote speech. Zhuang Jia, the deputy director of China Science and Technology Exchange Center, presided.

Li Yong proposed to jointly enhance the scientific and cultural literacy of the public, promote the sharing of scientific achievements, and contribute to the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind. Ruan Xiangping hoped that this seminar would enhance mutual understanding and mutual learning among peoples of all countries, and jointly promote technological innovation in the “Belt and Road” initiative.

As the representative of the organizer, Gao Xiang reviewed the results of the previous two seminars and explained the important role of characteristic international science and technology communication in promoting science and technology humanities exchanges.

Fang Li pointed out that the BJAST would continue to make use of its advantages in science and technology and popular science resources, build an international-level intelligent science communication platform, fulfill the scientific communication mission of scientific research institutions, and guarantee and serve the "Belt and Road" international science exchanges, and make new contributions to improve the scientific literacy of citizens of all countries.

At the opening ceremony, the participants jointly issued the "Declaration of International Popularization of Science". There were two parallel meetings on the agenda of this seminar. Each parallel meeting was held in three stages. Experts from various countries exchanged and discussed the experience of scientific communication.
