In the selection of advanced collectives and individuals in the work of Beijing science and technology popularization, the Beijing Natural History Museum affiliated to the BJAST and the Beijing Science and Technology Publishing Co., Ltd won the title of "Beijing Science Popularization Advanced Collective" while Yang Bin, Zhang Yan, and Hu Jining won "Beijing Science Popularization Advanced Individual" respectively.

In the past five years, the BJAST, relying on 3 national museums including Beijing Planetarium, Beijing Natural History Museum, Beijing Milu Ecological Research Center, and 19 national and municipal Science and Technology Education Bases to advance science and technology popularization. The BJAST strengthens efforts in constructing hardware facilities of science popularization venues, promoting scientific research capabilities of science popularization practitioners, accelerating the transformation rate of science and technology resources into popular science, making innovation of popular science dissemination methods and the research and developing of science popularization products, etc.. It rallies the advantages of science popularization resources including exhibitions, science popularization activities, cultural products to establish the science popularization brand activities such as “Science lecture” “Museum Night” and “Science Caravan”. With science popularization service for more than 100 million people in total and several series of science popularization books being popular, the BJAST has become an important window for scientific and cultural exchanges in Beijing.

In the future, the BJAST will continue to give full play to the advantages of science and technology and science popularization resources, actively build an international-level smart science communication platform, fulfill the mission of scientific communication of scientific research institutions, and make new contributions to improving citizens' scientific literacy.
