On February 8, Wang Jianxin, the second-level inspector of the Municipal Commission of Science and Technology and the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee, led a team to the BJAST to investigate its work of popular science. Wu Jianmin, Deputy Secretary of the leading party members’ group and President of the BJAST, attended the meeting, and Liu Ziliang, the leader of the BJAST, presided over the meeting.

Wang Jianxin and others first visited the Beijing Planetarium. At the meeting, the two sides carried out in-depth exchanges and discussions on implementing the instructions of the authority, further strengthening cooperation, giving better play to the advantages of science popularization resources of the academy, and jointly promoting science popularization in our city.

Wu Jianmin pointed out that the BJAST attaches great importance to science popularization, which is one of the key areas of the development of the academy. According to the deployment and requirements of the municipal party committee and the municipal government, the BJAST will earnestly implement the key tasks of the Beijing Municipal Science Popularization Work and Science Literacy Action Plan, strengthen the construction of science popularization capacity and the supply of science popularization products, and play a role and contribute to improving the public's scientific literacy. Wang Jianxin fully affirmed the achievements of the science popularization work of the academy, and thanked the academy for its support to the Municipal Science and Technology Commission and the Zhongguancun Management Committee over the years. He hoped that the two sides would take the implementation of the key work of the city's science popularization as the starting point, give full play to the distinctive advantages of the think tank of the BJAST, strengthen cooperation in the work mechanism and policy research of science popularization, give full play to the role of the BJAST in enriching science popularization resources, strengthen communication and coordination in major science popularization activities such as the Beijing Science and Technology Week and the three major competitions of the city's science popularization, and form a working force.
