In August, Wang Dongqun, Secretary of Dingzhou Municipal Committee, and Mayor Zhang Tao led a team to the BJAST for research and exchange. The two sides signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Fang Li, Secretary of the Party Committee of the BJAST, and Guo Guangsheng, President of the BJAST, held talks with leaders of Dingzhou City. Shao Jinwen, Vice-president of the BJAST, Zhao Hongliang, Member of the Standing Committee of Dingzhou Municipal Committee, and Jia Xiaoming, Vice-mayor of Dingzhou City attended the meeting.

Fang Li pointed out that the BJAST has actively served the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, forming a “one axis, one network” collaborative innovation pattern. This cooperation is not only the new progress of the implementation of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development strategy by the BJAST, but also the concrete measures taken by the BJAST to implement thematic education.

Guo Guangsheng introduced the reform and development of the BJAST and stressed that in the future cooperation, the two sides should highlight the key points and combine both hardware and software, combine long-term and short-term considerations, and link work at selected spots with that in entire areas. The signing of the agreement should be taken as an opportunity to give full play to the advantages of both sides, formulate key cooperation tasks, transform more scientific research achievements into productive forces, make due contributions to the regional economic and social development, and jointly serve the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.

Wang Dongqun hopes to deepen the cooperation between the two sides and create a model of cooperation between the academy and local areas through the establishment of a cooperation mechanism.

Zhang Tao introduced the development of Dingzhou City and said that the two sides had reached a consensus on cooperation in related fields in the early stage. He hopes to establish a long-term cooperative relationship between two sides in the aspect of industry-university-research cooperation to promote the high-quality development of Dingzhou City.

Shao Jinwen and Zhang Tao signed strategic cooperation agreements with Dingzhou Municipal People's Government on behalf of the BJAST respectively.
