  • On October 21, BJAST went to Germany to hold a meeting before departure for the "key technology training course on construction and risk assessment of resilient city" which is attended by President Guo Guangsheng and Vice President Liu Qingjun.

Urban safety and governance innovation is one of the six major areas for the BJAST. Resilient city construction and risk assessment is one of the important development directions in this field. Numerous professional teams from many research institutes in our Academy have carried out forward-looking innovation research in this direction, and have undertaken the construction of sub-centers for scientific and technological innovation service cities and the national key research and development projects for scientific and technological Winter Olympics. The members of this training team are composed of 15 scientific research professionals from 7 affiliated units of the Academy in related research fields, including 6 doctors and 9 masters.

Liu Qingjun first extended congratulations and affirmation to the team members, and indicated that everyone should cherish the opportunity and serve as a good spokesperson for the spirit of BJAST. All members should act collectively, abide by discipline for foreign affairs and strengthen their own safety awareness. The learning content should be expressed and presented in a communicable form, and the learning results should be popularized and applied to work practice.

Guo Guangsheng made a strong case for the importance of overseas training. He encouraged the trainees to study hard, think actively, understand the content and significance of learning from a higher perspective to truly apply what they have learned into practice and set strict requirements for learning results. He also encouraged the trainees to promote their research through further learning, and proactively apply for natural science funds and social science funds. Ultimately, he emphasized the vital importance of political safety, personal safety and property safety.

The heads of the Foreign Cooperation Division and the Research Center respectively explained the discipline for foreign affairs and overseas training arrangements, and the members of the training team attended the meeting before departure.
