• China and Russia Jointly Organize High-level Special Training to Help Build a Human Health Community-"Anti-epidemic of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Frontier Development of Medical Health" Special Training

  • On 8th of July, the BJAST, together with the Heilongjiang Academy of Sciences and the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, jointly organize a special training on "Anti-epidemic of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Frontier Development of Medical Health". Zheng Huanmin, the president of the BJAST, Sha Changqing, the deputy president of the Heilongjiang Academy of Sciences, Rudek Viktor Nikolaevich, the academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences and deputy president of the Ural Branch attend the opening ceremony and deliver speeches. More than 50 people including senior experts, scholars and trainees from more than 10 relevant scientific research institutions including the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences participate in the training. The head of the “One Belt and One Road” International Science and Technology Cooperation Training Center and Division of International Cooperation of BJAST presides over the training.

    Zheng Huanmin points out that the BJAST has given full play to its role as a base for international scientific and technological cooperation under the “One Belt and One Road” initiative and has cooperated with partners in Pakistan, Serbia and other countries and regions. In 2021, the BJAST will continue to carry out scientific and technological humanities exchanges and cooperation with institutions along the route, and inject new forces into jointly promoting the collaborative innovation of the biomedical and health industry and promoting the construction of the Beijing International Science and Technology Innovation Center.

    Sha Changqing expresses that the exchanges and cooperation between China and Russia in the field of science and technology continue to achieve new results. This training aims to share and introduce Chinese experience in anti-epidemic in traditional Chinese medicine, and looks forward to technical exchanges and cooperation. Rudjek believes that the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences has a good research foundation in the field of human health and is interested in the role of traditional Chinese medicine in the global prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic. He expects to learn from each other and promote substantive cooperation.

    Zhan Qimin, the academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the president of the International Cancer Institute of Peking University, and professor Gu Xiaohong, the secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and the vice president of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association respectively center on "Science and Technology Innovation and Biomedical Development" and "The Historical Contribution and Realistic Value of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Epidemic Prevention and Control". The lectures are highly praised by the trainees. The Russian trainees ask questions and exchange views on bio-medicine and other aspects, and look forward to further cooperation in related fields in the future to jointly build a human health community.
