On June 10, Gu Yucai, Deputy Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Deputy Director General of the National Cultural Heritage Administration, led a team to the Beijing Museum of Natural History for investigation. Liu Yang, Director of the Department of Museums and Social Relics of the National Cultural Heritage Administration, Chen Mingjie, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Director General, and Xiang Dechun, member of the Leading Party Members’ Group and Deputy Director General of the Beijing Municipal Cultural Heritage Bureau, participated in the investigation. Fang Li, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group of the BJAST played host to the team, accompanied by Meng Qingjin, Director of the museum.

Gu investigated the exhibition hall, learned about the protection and utilization of the museum's collections in detail, and listened to museum’ scientific research, exhibition, collection and popular science education in recent years. He recognized the achievements made by the museum in various works and the leading role it played in the development and construction of natural museums all over the country, and required the museum to accelerate its construction of the new venue to form a new pattern of museum development with reasonable layout, optimized structure, distinctive features and complete functions in the capital.

Fang Li expressed his gratitude to the Administration for its attention and support to the work of Beijing Museum of Natural History. Fang Li said that in accordance with the requirements of National Cultural Heritage Administration for the innovation and development of museums, the Beijing Museum of Natural History will coordinate the collection and exhibition work, strengthen the research function as a museum, and play its due role in building Beijing into an international scientific and technical innovation center, a national cultural center, and an international exchange center.
