Prof. Dr.-Ing. Prof. e. h. Wilhelm Bauer is Chairman of the Fraunhofer Innovation Research Alliance, a Member of the Executive Board of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Executive Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering IAO, Stuttgart, and Managing Director of Fraunhofer Italia Researchs.c.a.r.l. He also served as Director of the Institute for Human Factors and Technology Management IAT at the University of Stuttgart, Commissioner for Technology of the State government of Baden-Württemberg, a Member of acatech – National Academy of Science and Engineering. He is a member of the High-Level Expert Group on Artificial Intelligence of the European Commission and a Co-Head of the Working Group Future of Work and Human-Machine Interaction of the Plattform Lernende Systeme–Germany’s Platform for Artificial Intelligence. In 2012, Prof. Bauer received the honour of the State of Baden-Württembergasa ?Day after Tomorrow Maker?. As a member of various committees, he advises government and industry.As an author, he has over 400 scientific and technical publications to his name.
