Dr. Wolf-Dieter Rausch is Professor of Medical Biochemistry at the Department of Biomedical Sciences of the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna. His main research field is neurochemistry where he particularly focuses on aging and neurodegenerative diseases as Parkinson´s disease. He is heading a group on Neurochemistry, where particular attention is paid to cell and animal models of human neurodegenerative diseases. He holds guest professorships in China from Jilin University, Changchun, Bin Zhou University Yantai, University of the Nationalities Inner Mongolia. Currently he has scientific cooperations within a TCM research project on Neuroprotection together with the Chinese Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences and Capital University both Beijing. From end of 2012 he is President of Eurasia Pacific Uninet, an Austrian university network supported by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy.
