TONG YI is the academic leader of "Research on Integration and Development of Science, Technology and Culture" in Beijing S&T Strategy Decision-making Consultant Center of Beijing Academy of Science and Technology, Delegate of the 13th National People's Congress(NPC)，Member of Education, Science, Culture and Health Committee of the 15th Beijing Municipal People's Congress，Director and Researcher of Beijing Research Center for Science of Science. She has been engaged in the research on science and technology innovation strategy, science and technology management, integration of science technology and culture, etc. She has presided over 50 soft scientific research projects funded by national and local government authorities. More than 70 academic papers and government internal references are published and delivered by TONG YI. She has participated in the compilation and publication for more than 10 monographs, and won science and technology awards at or above provincial level.
